Many of my friends and colleagues are mentioning that I should keep on deep breathing to get better and gain health benefits. What are the benefits of deep breathing? How should I do deep breathing?
Deep breathing is a technique of taking breathes in and out. These techniques come from many ancient healing practices. Out of all the ancient practices, Yoga has been quite popular.
Deep breathing denotes taking more amount of air inside the lungs and breathing out the almost the same amount of air over an extended period of time.
On a daily basis, we are taking normal breathe. The normal breathing may be usually 100 to 500 ml of air being taken in through the nose. But the actual capacity of our lungs is up to 2.5 to 3 litres of air.
When we take a deep breath, air reaches to almost all of the air pockets in both the lungs. We also need a longer amount of time duration, to take a complete deep breath.
Deep breathing helps to pass on more amount of Oxygen to the lungs. This helps to have a more rich blood and thus helps to increase our energy.
In meditation, the deep breathing technique helps to relieve from the day to day life. Deep breathing allows one to take a break during stressful work and life condition. It gives a direction to do meditation, by focusing on the flow of air that goes in through the nose. In meditation, one also focuses on the flow of air through the body and the flow of air out of the nose.
Deep breathing allows to calm down the mind if it is getting agitated or irritated due to stressful condition.
