Mushrooms are the body part of natural fungi which are also called as the Agaricus. While many Mushrooms are poisonous and non edible, the edible mushrooms are a few varieties which may be used directly or may come processed.

Ingredients Required

  1. Basmati rice 1 cup
  2. Button mushrooms – about 200 grams
  3. Oil 1 tablespoon
  4. Onion 3/4 cup finely chopped
  5. Garlic 1 chopped
  6. Ginger 1 chopped
  7. 2 finely chopped chillies
  8. Spring onion green 2 tablespoon finely chopped
  9. Soya sauce 2 tablespoon
  10. Chilly sauce 1 tablespoon
  11. Salt
  12. Black pepper

Method of Preparation

The method of preparing mushroom fried rice is simple but important. The sequence should be correctly followed in order to get a properly prepared Mushroom Fried Rice.

  1. First, cook your rice and keep it aside. Check here to know the proper way to cook rice.
  2. Now, take a pan and add oil into it. Start heating the pan and wait for a minute or two until the oil gets hot.
  3. Now, put the finely chopped into the pan. Stir fry it for 4 to 5 minutes until, they start becoming golden brown.
  4. Now add your chillies, ginger, garlic and then stir fry them for another 5 minutes. This also gives chance for the onion to get properly f
    ried and become brownish.
  5. Now add the spring onion and then the cooled down rice and stir fry it properly, so that everything gets mixed in a uniform manner.
  6. When the spring onion, rice and other ingredients have mixed properly, add Soya sauce, black pepper, chilli sauce and salt enough for proper taste. and stir fry everything for 5 minutes.
  7. Reduce the flame to the lowest possible and close the pan with a plate. A Steel plate will be preferable. Pour water on to this plate so that the rice gets heated up on a “steaming plate”. Switch off the gas / burner after 5 minutes.

Your mushroom fried rice is read. You may serve it in a nice china dish or a glass plate. Mushroom rice can be served with a nice green or red chutney.
Green chutney is prepared with coconut and chillies and Red chutney is prepared with tamarind and tomatoes.
