The Government of NCT of Delhi has put up a recruitment for the post of Doctor (GDO) at Grade II. The Department is the Delhi Jal Board and the recruitment is being filled through the Union Public Service Commission Online Recruitment Application (UPSC – ORA).

Total openings available

There are a total of 5 openings available for the post of Doctor. There are 3 vacancies reserved for OBC candidate, 1 for SC candidate, 1 for ST candidate and none for Unreserved or Physicially Handicapped candidates.

Pay Scale for Doctors Post

Irrespective of reservations, candidate will receive salary in Pay Band 3 which will be of Rs. 15,600 to 39,100.

They will also receive a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400. The board will not admit NPA. The total emoluments on initial appointment will be approximately Rs. 42,000 per month. The Travel allowance and House Rent Allowance will be separate.

Age Restrictions

Candidates belonging to OBC category should not be more than 38 years of age, while those of SC and ST category should not be more than 40 years of age, as on the closing date of this application. Candidates who are already working as Government servants will have a age relaxation of 5 years.

Educational Qualifications

Following are the required educational qualifications for the post of Doctor in the Delhi Jal Board. The qualifications are described under essential qualifications and desirable qualifications.

Essential qualifications

The qualification of the candidate should be recognised under the First or Second or the Part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956. The candidates who have their qualifications recognised in the part II of the Third Schedule, should fulfill conditions mentioned in the sub section (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956.

The candidate should have passed their Matriculation examination with Hindi or Sanskrit as a subject.

Responsibilities and Duties of the candidate

The candidate will be responsible to attend patients through department dispensaries.

Probation period

The probation period for the post of Doctor GDO Grade II will be one year.

The head quarters are located at Delhi Jal Board in New Delhi and the posts are from Category A and are permanent type posts.
