So, you have lots of fruits at home but do not wish to eat them just like that? This happens. Many a times, we do feel like having the fruits, but are quite lazy enough or even may not be interested in taking the fruits and eating them. Here is where a smoothie comes to your rescue! And a Guava smoothie is one of the richest and smooth blend to ever have. Our recipe is a blend with spinach and thus it becomes a wholesome and healthy drink as well.
- 1/2 cup of guava chopped and either with seeds or seeds removed.
- 2 cups of fresh baby spinach
- 1 cup fresh fat free milk
- 1 teaspoon spoon sugar
How to select the best guavas?
Guavas that are firm to feel and have a good aromatic smell are good. It is good to choose the large sized Guavas then the smaller ones. Smaller ones tend to have small seeds which can be difficult to remove and may have a bitter taste in them. Avoid those guava which may be cracked or may have holes in them. Stores guavas in the refrigerator which will keep them good for a week or two. Guavas ripen quickly at room temperature, while the summer and winter seasons are good for getting good guavas.
Method of Preparation
Take the chopped Guava and the baby spinach and blend it together for 15 seconds. Now, add the milk, sugar with a pinch of salt. Blend thid together for 20 seconds.
Open the blender and see if the blend is smooth or needs to be blended more. This can happen if you do not remove the Guava seeds.
If you prefer the smoothie to be chilled, you may add 1 cup of ice cubes and blend it again for another 20 seconds. Ice cubes give it a crushed feeling to the mouth. If you do not prefer that, you can allow your smmothie to chill by keeping it in the freezer.
